The Texas Rangers - A Legend In Their Own Time
Author: Mike Whittington
With illustrations: J. Moore
Review by: Colonel Poncho

Always having had a abiding interest in all things western I was more than
curious when I came across this book by our very own 'Capt' Mike' on the
site. I figured that it had to be worth the meagre asking price and sent for
it forthwith.

I was delighted and more than a little surprised when the good captain
promptly posted the book out to me with just how good and well written it
is. It may only be thirty-nine pages long but there is a wealth of information
in there written in the Captain's own no nonsense style which actually makes
for very good reading.

The illustrations by one J. Moore help to bring the whole book alive as we
learn everything about the Rangers from when they were formed right up to
the present day. There is a very interesting chapter all about famous Texas
Rangers and an informative section on the guns of the rangers too.
I highly recommend this slim volume for your western library and I promise
that you will not be disappointed.

The only criticism I have is that there wasn't more of the same. Captain Mike, maybe you should think about doing a fuller version? If you did, I would be the first in line to buy a copy.
